About PRTax NEW Interface

1. Click the PRTax icon on your desktop to open the program.

• The Tax Returns Browser opens.

• The Tax Returns Browser displays the List View by default.

Show List View:

• This screen displays returns and their schedules and forms as a tree.

2. On Select View, click Icon View to change the display of returns.

3. The List and Icon View provide the following options:

• Click New to create a new return.
• Click Delete to delete returns or schedules with the checkbox selected.
• Click Select All to put a check mark and select all the returns displayed.
• Click Deselect All to remove the check marks.
• Click Print to print returns with the checkbox selected.
• On the Sort by section, click to organize returns by Social Security, last name, first name or by type of form (long forms first, then short forms).
• On the Find by Last Name field, enter the last name of a particular taxpayer. PRTax will select it on the list.
• On the Find by Soc. Sec. # field, enter the social security number of a particular taxpayer. PRTax will select it on the list if you are on the List View. Hit enter to open the main return.
• On the Language section you can choose to work with PRTax in English or Spanish.

4. To open a return double click the item if you are on the List View or click the icon of the return once if you are on the Icon View.

• The Personal Information screen of the taxpayer selected is displayed.

5. Once you open a return, notice that the Tax Return Editor button appears to the right of the Tax Returns Browser button and the title bar displays the name and social security number of the account.

6. The Tax Returns Editor screen provides the following options:

• Click Review to open the return and edit it.
• Click Print Return to open the Select Schedule screen and choose the forms to be printed.
• On the Short/Long Form, Page 1/Page 2 sections, click the buttons to open or edit a particular section of the return.
• Click to preview the main form of the return in PDF format.
• On the Schedules section, click Add to create a new schedule, form or US Tax Form for this return.
• Click Delete to delete schedules or forms with the checkbox selected.
• Click an icon to open and edit the schedule, form, or US return.
• On the Language section at the bottom of the screen you can choose to work with PRTax in English or Spanish.
